This guided motorcycle tour offers an exhilarating journey through the Scottish Highlands, starting and ending in Glasgow. Designed for riders seeking both scenic thrills and cultural depth, the tour blends dramatic landscapes, historic landmarks, and warm hospitality. Each day brings new discoveries—from lochs and glens to castles and coastal roads.


Day 1 – Arrival in Renfrew

Riders arrive at the Glynhill Hotel & Spa near Glasgow Airport. Whether bringing your own bike or hiring one, the hotel provides secure parking and excellent facilities. The evening includes a welcome dinner and tour briefing, offering a chance to meet fellow riders and review the itinerary.


Day 2 – Renfrew to Pitlochry (about 160 miles)

Begin with motorway and dual carriageway riding to adjust to local conditions. Cross the Erskine Bridge and head toward Loch Lomond. Visit Balloch Castle Country Park, then ride through the Campsie Hills to Killearn, Fintry, and Kippen. Stop for coffee in Aberfoyle before tackling the Dukes Pass. Continue past Brig o’Turk, Kilmahog, Loch Lubnaig, and Loch Earn to Crieff for lunch. The route then leads through Aberfeldy, Fortingall (home to Europe’s oldest tree), and Loch Tummel before arriving in Pitlochry.


Day 3 – Pitlochry to Golspie (about 195 miles)

Ride through the Cairngorms to Braemar and Tomintoul. Visit Glenfarclas Distillery for a connoisseur tour. Continue north to Culloden battlefield, then cross the Black Isle via Avoch and take a ferry across the Cromarty Firth. Visit Balintore and the Mermaid of the North sculpture before reaching Golspie, nestled beneath Ben Bhraggie.


Day 4 – Golspie to Badcall Bay (about 190 miles)

Optional visit to Dunrobin Castle. Ride north along the coast through Brora, Helmsdale, and Lybster. Explore Whaligoe Steps and Wick, then visit Castle Sinclair Girnigoe and John o’Groats. Head west past Castle of Mey and Mary Ann’s Cottage. Lunch at Bettyhill or Tongue. Continue along the A838 past Loch Eriboll, Ceannabeinne Beach, and Smoo Cave. Enjoy a treat at Cocoa Mountain before arriving at Badcall Bay.


Day 5 – Badcall Bay to Shieldaig (about 175 miles)

Cross the Kylesku Bridge and visit Ardvreck Castle. Optional detour to Achmelvich Beach and Lochinver. Stop at Achiltibuie for views of the Summer Isles. Rejoin the A835 to Ullapool for lunch. Continue to Corrieshalloch Gorge, Poolewe, and Loch Maree. Arrive in Shieldaig, a village overlooking Shieldaig Island.


Day 6 – Shieldaig to Glenelg (about 190 miles)

Ride through Fearnmore to Applecross, then ascend the Bealach na Bà pass. Visit Plockton and cross the Skye Bridge. Explore Portree, Kilt Rock, and the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye. Cross the Kylerhea strait via the Glenelg turntable ferry and stay overnight at the Glenelg Inn.


Day 7 – Glenelg to Oban (about 210 miles)

Explore Glen Shiel and Loch Duich. Ride past Loch Ness and stop at Neptune’s Staircase near Fort William. Visit Glenfinnan and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Take a ferry to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, then ride to Calgary Bay. Ferry to Oban and stay near McCaig’s Folly.


Day 8 – Oban to Glasgow (about 150 miles)

Ride south along the A816 to Lochgilphead and Loch Fyne. Visit Inveraray Castle and Jail Museum. Loop around Loch Fyne to Otter Ferry and Tighnabruich for lunch. Continue to Dunoon and take the ferry to McInroys Point. Return to Renfrew via Inverclyde and Renfrewshire countryside.
